Sag Harbor Students Celebrate Reading, Honor Dr. Seuss

The events were scheduled as part of Read Across America Day.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY - Dr. Seuss was in the spotlight recently at the Sag Harbor Elementary School

Frst-graders celebrated "Read Across America Day" by participating in a number of activities starting on February 29.

Throughout the week, students in Wendy Burokas' and Dayna DiSunno’s class honored Dr. Seuss’ birthday through interactive lessons and educational projects.

Kids made oobleck after reading “Bartholomew and the Oobleck,” had the chance to meet the “Cat in the Hat,” played by Assistant Principal Donna Denon, and made Dr. Seuss-themed hats.
