Sag Harbor Students Pay Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King

Kindergartners learned about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King on Friday.

Kindergarteners in Nina Landi’s class at Sag Harbor Elementary School honored Dr. Martin Luther King on Friday, Jan. 16 after learning about his life and the how the power of his words can bring peace into every day society.

During the presentation, students, who wore handcrafted blue and white peace necklaces, read what they wrote about the meaning of peace.

They also sang two songs, “Peace will Come” by Tom Paxton and “Shed a Little Light” by James Taylor.

During their musical performance, students’ watercolor paintings, which depicted what peace means to them, were displayed on a screen.
