Sag Harbor Students Perform Laps For Love To Help Needy
The kids learned a lesson about human rights as part of the fundraiser.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Sag Harbor students opened their hearts to help those in need recently. Fifth-graders in
JoAnn Kelly’s class recently raised more than $1,200 for the International Committee of the Red Cross as part of a “Laps for Love” fundraiser, the district said.
Students found sponsors who pledged to donate money for every lap students ran or walked around the elementary school’s playground, a release said.

The fundraiser was conducted in conjunction with a classroom lesson about human rights, with students voting to make a difference by donating to a charity that helps others.
