School Bus Crash In Sag Harbor; 1 Child Onboard: District

An elementary school student, a bus matron and the driver were on the bus, the school district says.

SAG HARBOR, NY — A Sag Harbor school bus was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon, district officials said.

According to a statement from Sag Harbor Superintendent of Schools Katy Graves: "Unfortunately, this afternoon, a Sag Harbor school bus was involved in an accident on Scuttlehole Road."

At the time, one elementary student, a bus matron and the bus driver were the only occupants of the bus, she said.

The Southampton Police Department responded to the scene, and all three were taken to the hospital for observation and treatment of any injuries; the student has already been released from the hospital, Graves said.

"As always, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. The police are conducting their investigation and the district will fully cooperate. We will also continue to stay in contact with those involved in the accident," she said.
