Secret Santa Collects Donations to Keep Mom, Child Warm Over Holidays

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — A local Secret Santa is one struggling mother's guardian angel this holiday season.

Bridgehampton resident Shanna Hall has created a GoFundMe, "In the Spirit of Giving," to help a woman who's having a hard time paying the heating bills during the holiday season. The page has raised $265 of its $4,000 goal so far.

"I'm reaching out to all my dear friends and family. An outstandingly loyal, honest and goodhearted member of our community is need of a little help this holiday season," Hall wrote.

"I have faith that my decision to keep this person anonymous will not adversely affect your willingness to share whatever you're comfortable with sharing. My friend has a full time job and side work, but is having a hard time keeping warm at home due to the cost of oil. All donations will go directly to fuel oil, PSEG, and the much needed repair and tires of car. I can assure you this Christmas gift is one that will be respected and appreciated by my friend and her child."

She added, "Please share whatever you can. Every little bit helps and nothing is too small. I know it's hard for so many of us, but please show faith and love."
