Security Guard At LI Hospital Threatened By Man With Switchblade: PD

The Riverhead man was arrested and charged in Southampton, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Riverhead man was charged after he threatened to harm hospital personnel with a switchblade in Southampton, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the man, 34, was arrested on Meeting House Lane on Monday and charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.

While he was a patient in the emergency room at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, he made threats of bodily harm with the switchblade knife to hospital personnel; police did recover a switchblade from him, police said.
