SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Once again, Southampton Town police worked together with other agencies and Walmart to get kids ready for back-to-school.

Recently, members of the Southampton Town Police Department, New York State
Troopers, and the Southampton Town Police Explorers participated in a “Shop with a Cop” event sponsored by Walmart.

"The event was an outstanding success in helping children and families from Southampton Town prepare for back to school," police said.

Officers shared dinner with the families before going shopping. Walmart in Riverhead provided a significant donation, along with Southampton Town Superior Officers Association, and Southampton Town Policeman’s Benevolent Association.

"We especially want to thank Walmart and its employees, who were so welcoming and assisted us with this beautiful event," police said.
