Sixth Annual Vanderbilt Lobster Fest Begins This July

The festival offers support to the museums education program that serve more than 30,000 schoolchildren each year.

The sixth annual Vanderbilt Lobster Festival is beginning Saturday July 22nd from 6 pm to 10 pm. The event will be held at the Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport in the Celebration Tent on the Great Lawn overlooking Northport Bay and the Long Island Sound. This festival is the Vanderbilt's largest fund raising event and strongly benefits the museum's education programs.

The Lobster Fest celebrates the passion that Mr. Vanderbilt had for the sea and his journeys across the globe where he collected thousands of marine specimens which are now on display at the museum. The Lobster Fest will feature passed hors d'oeuvres, whole steamed lobsters, grilled skirt steak, and roasted sweet corn. You can also enjoy craft beer and sangria while witnessing the preparation of a five foot Paella. There will also be a deejay for listening and dancing.

Tickets are $125 per person, $115 for members and $1,125 for a table of ten. You can purchase tickets online at vanderbiltmuseum.org or by calling 631-854-5579 Monday through Friday 10:00-4:00 pm. Reservations must be made by Friday, July 14th.
