Southampton 8th Grader Named Rookie Of The Year

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — An eighth grader from Southampton recently made a splash on the field.

Carlie Kreymborg, who attends Southampton Intermediate School, recently earned the Section XI Varsity Field Hockey Rookie of the Year title, the district said.

Kreymborg, a first-year varsity player, was the only athlete in Section XI to earn the honor for "being an impactful and vital player to her team," district officials added.

During the season, Kreymborg played every position on the field aside from goalie and sweeper. She also made three goals.

"The Southampton Union Free School District extends its congratulations to Carlie on this impressive honor," the district said.
