Southampton Animal Shelter Flies to the Rescue Again!
SASF along with 3 other rescues flew off to Puerto Rico on Wed. to bring back 100 dogs in dire need.

The Southampton Animal Shelter arrived in Puerto Rico to once again rescue about 100 dogs. Our friends at the El Faro Shelter in Humacao, on the East Coast of Puerto Rico, have become overcrowded due to the closing of a neighboring shelter.
In September 2015, SASF Marketing Director Kate McEntee, Clinic Director, Teri Meekins, DVM, along with El Faro de los Animales Shelter Board member, David Brownstein, spearheaded the first mission inviting other rescue organizations to take in some of the 70 dogs and cats. Mr. Brownstein’s plane was met on the tarmac by each organization as the crew diligently & with great care, unloaded each animal into the awaiting transports. The crew accompanied by Ms. McEntee went on their second rescue mission in November, 2015 bringing back 58 dogs.
