Southampton Celebrates Class Of 2022
"You are a generation of change and we are all counting on you."

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Despite a pandemic and unprecedented challenges, Southampton High School's Class of 2022 rallied to make their community proud.
The seniors were honored during the district’s 129th annual commencement exercises on June 24.
During the ceremony, speakers took the podium to offer congratulations and words of wisdom.

Southampton High School Principal Dr. Brian Zahn praised the graduates for their perseverance during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Through all of the changes, this group of students never gave up,” he said.
He also spoke about the rich diversity of the Southampton community: “Take what this school community has given you and use it as a means to better yourself and everyone around you.”

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicholas Dyno was next to speak. “Change is inevitable — life constantly changes, but do not fight it,” he said. “When change comes, embrace it. You are a generation of change and we are all counting on you.”
Among those representing the graduating class at the podium were Samantha Paige Brenner, who spoke on behalf of the summa cum laude graduates, and Hallie Florence Beeker and Christopher Matamoros. Each shared memories of high school and advice for the future.
The ceremony also featured a performance of “Ripple” by the high school senior choir, followed by the presentation of diplomas, the district said.
