Southampton Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint Friday Night: Police

Cash, lottery tickets, and cigarettes were stolen, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton gas station was robbed at gunpoint Friday night, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 10:46 p.m. at the Speedway on County Road 39. Southampton Town Police, Southampton Village Police and New York State Police responded and found that an unknown male had robbed the gas station at gunpoint, authorities said.

A clerk and a customer were inside at the time of the robbery; no injuries were reported, police said. The thief stole an unknown amount of cash, lotto tickets and cigarettes, police said.

He fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said. Southampton Town police detectives responded to continue the investigation, police said.
