Southampton High School Receives Phone Threat
Southampton High School and two Riverhead schools all received the calls on Thursday morning.

Three East End schools all received calls with threats on Thursday afternoon.
In Southampton, all three schools in the district were on lockdown after the school received a phone call from an anonymous caller threatening the high school from an outside source, according to 27east.
Scott Farina, Superintendent of Schools wrote on the district’s Facebook page that the district has been made aware of a threat that was called into the high school and that the threat was not specific in date or time, but indicated would come from the outside.

“Police have command of the situation. As a precautionary measure, the district’s three buildings are currently in a lockout status, which means no one can enter or leave the buildings. All roads are currently blocked entering and exiting the high school,” Farina writes on the Facebook page.
He also announced that the high school students will be dismissed at 2:07 p.m., after ninth period.

The police will be assisting the district and community members with by opening the roads that are currently blocking all access to and from the building.
The Intermediate and Elementary Schools will be dismissed at regular time.
The Southampton Village Police are currently investigating.
In Riverhead, according to RiverheadLocal, Riverhead High School and McGann-Mercy High School both sent their students home early. Police received a call at 10:40 a.m. from an unknown caller stating there was a hidden bomb in a backpack inside Mercy High School, RiverheadLocal reports.
About 40 minutes later, police received another call that there was also a bomb at Riverhead High School hidden at the front of the building, according to RiverheadLocal.
After a thorough investigation, no bomb was found at either school, RiverheadLocal reports.
Mercy High School also received a bomb threat on Wednesday when an unknown caller said there was a bomb in the school and sent students and staff home, but no bomb was found, RiverheadLocal reports.
