Southampton Hospital Named One Of Nation's 'Most Wired'

"When patients have digital access to their records, it improves their quality of healthcare and can even save their lives."

SOUTHAMPTON, NY —Southampton Hospital has been recognized as one of the nation’s “Most Wired” hospitals for the sixth consecutive year.

According to the results of HealthCare’s 19th Annual Most Wired® survey, released by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum, Most Wired hospitals, including Southampton, are using smart phones, telehealth and remote monitoring to create more ways for patients to access health care services and gather health information.

“Keeping up with today’s ever-changing technology can be extremely difficult, so we are very proud of the work our IT team is doing to ensure seamless access to digital patient records throughout the hospital, our satellite facilities and medical practice offices,” Robert S. Chaloner, Southampton Hospital president and CEO, said. “When patients have digital access to their records, it improves their quality of healthcare and can even save their lives.”

Most Wired hospitals are using available technology options to create more ways to reach their patients in order to provide access to care, added AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack.

“They are transforming care delivery, investing in new delivery models in order to improve quality, provide access and control costs," he said.
