Forbes: Sagaponack Second Most Expensive Zip Code in the Country

Forbes has revealed its list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes for 2014, and six of Southampton’s villages and hamlets made the list.

Out of the 500 most expensive zip codes, Sagaponack (11962) is the second most expensive zip code in America with a median home price of $6,433,076 and an average of 327 days on the market.

Other zip codes on the list included:

• Bridgehampton (11932) - #13, Median price: $4,286,538, Average days on the market: 273
• Water Mill (11976) - #16, Median price: $4,004,807, Average days on the the market: 318
• Quogue (11959) - #93, Median price: $2,080,690, Average days on the market: 282
• Sag Harbor (11963) - #134, Median price: $1,692,557, Average days on the market: 253
• Southampton Village (11968) - #136, Median price: $1,679,232, Average days on the market: 309

According to Forbes, its annual list of America’s Most Expensive Zip Codes is based on data from Altos Research, a Mountain View, California-based real estate analysis firm.

For this ranking, Altos calculated the median home prices for more than 28,500 U.S. ZIP codes (covering 95% of the U.S. population) using asking prices for single-family homes and condominiums listed for sale.
