Southampton Man Charged With DWI After Rollover Crash: Police
The crash took place Thursday afternoon in Southampton, police say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated Thursday after a rollover crash in Southampton, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the single-car crash took place at 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 39 and Shrubland Road. The vehicle left the roadway, careening into the woods and rolling over, police said.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, Will Reed, 64, of Southampton, was able to extract himself from the car, police said. Officers determined that Reed was intoxicated, police said.

Reed was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. He was then arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and released on an appearance ticket for court at a later date, police said.
