Southampton Police: 4 Arrested at Sobriety Checkpoint

Checkpoint was held overnight on Wednesday.

Four people were arrested and 16 summonses were issued during a sobriety checkpoint overnight Wednesday within the confines of the Town of Southampton, Southampton Town Police said.

Southampton Town Police hosted one segment of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office East End DWI Task Force from 8 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday.

Six members of the Task Force from the Southampton Town Police Department, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department and the Southampton Village Police Department were involved.

In all 62 vehicles were stopped and the operators were screened for impairment, police said. The following four people were arrested:

  • Wellington Barrios, 37, of Southampton, was arrested at 9:58 p.m. on Noyack Road for driving while impaired by alcohol
  • Tiskwa T. Reddick, 25, of Shinnecock Reservation, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. on Hampton Road for DWI
  • Danilo Donda, 51, of Southampton, was arrested at 2:06 a.m. on County Road 39 for DWI
  • Magdaleno Dejesus, 25, of Hampton Bays, was arrested at 2:45am on North Sea Road for DWI
