Southampton Police Welcome New Hires, Promote Detective

"We wish all our new officers and our newly promoted detective good luck!" Southampton Town police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The Southampton Town Police Department promoted a member of the department to detective and swore in three new members Wednesday.

Police Officer Keith Phillips became Detective Keith Phillips as Captain Howard Kalb officially promoted him, Southampton police said. Part-time officer Blake Gifford was officially sworn in as a full-time officer; Ivana Hojok and Maura Torres were officially sworn in as Southampton Town police officers and will begin training at the academy on Monday, police said.

The Southampton Town Police Department said they were honored to have Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman, Councilwoman Cyndi McNamara, Councilmen Tommy John Schiavoni and Rick Martel and Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer present for the promotion and swearing in of the new officers.
