Southampton Police Welcome Newest Hire
He was previously employed by the New York City Police Department, town officials say.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton Town Police welcomed a new officer to its ranks Wednesday.
Southampton Town Police Chief Steven Skrynecki said the swearing in of newest Police Officer Dylan Simpson took place at police headquarters.
Officer Simpson was previously employed by the New York City Police Department, officials said.

"Simpson will begin a rigorous field training program and sector familiarization after which he will be assigned to the patrol division," town officials said.
Southampton Town Supervisor Jay Schniederman, Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni, and Southampton Town Clerk Sandy Schermeyer attended and officiated the ceremony.
