Southampton Town Starts Duck Feeding Program
Residents are asked to pick up feed at the Marine Maintenance Barn.

The Southampton Town Trustees recently announced they have begun a Duck Feeding Program for the black ducks.
Black ducks overwinter on Long Island and migrate north to their breeding grounds in Canada.

During this time of the year is critical for these birds as they need to acquire the appropriate nourishment for the migration.
For the past 7 weeks, the bays have been frozen, preventing the ducks from eating and preparing for this long flight.

The Town is asking residents to participate by picking up the feed at the Marine Maintenance Barn on Jackson Avenue and filling out the log form.
