Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley Won't Seek Re-Election
Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley has held the post for the past 12 years.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton Village Mayor Mark Epley will be bidding adieu to his current post — he had decided not to seek re-election in June.
"I have been the mayor for 12 years, which is six terms," he told Patch. "With need to grow my business to meet the demand for our service and an expanding family, I just felt that I haven't been able to devote the time I believe needs to be dedicated to do the job at the level I should."
Epley is also the executive director of the Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach and has spent years working to stem the tide of drug and alcohol addiction sweeping not just the East End but the nation.
