Students Shine Focus On Environment For Earth Day
The kids created slideshows to share their lessons about environmentalists.

SAG HARBOR, NY — Some of the smallest children learned a big lesson about their environment recently: As part of an Earth Day, nonfiction writing lesson, Sag Harbor Elementary School second-graders in Jennifer Regan’s class researched various environmentalists using books from the library and information they found on ducksters.com, the district said.
The students used the information they learned to create Google slideshows and shared what they learned with other kids during the school’s morning session on Thursday, officials said.
They also designed Earth Day shirts to wear during their presentation and recited the poem, “Earth Day” by Jane Yolen.
