Teen Charged After Speeding, Colliding Into Vehicle: Police
He's facing reckless endangerment and reckless driving charges, police say.

NORTHAMPTON, NY — A teen was arrested after speeding and colliding with another vehicle in Northampton Wednesday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 6:17 p.m. on Country Road 51 and Lake Avenue when the 17-year old, of Mastic, was seen driving "at a high rate of speed, unreasonably endangering users of the public highway, and creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury to others."
The crash resulted in one minor injury, police said.

The teen boy was arrested and charged with reckless driving and second-degree reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors; he was also issued summonses for several traffic violations, police said.
He was brought to Southampton Town Police headquarters where he was processed then released to the custody of his parents with a future hearing date in Suffolk County Family Court, police said.
