The Watermill Center Hosts Final Family Day of 2017

Family Day Workshops in Movement and Music

The Watermill Center is pleased to welcome members of the East End community for the last Family Day of 2017. Held on Sunday, October 15th, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm and open to children ages 7 – 12 and their guardian/s, the afternoon will feature creative workshops with Watermill dancer Matty Davis of BOOMERANG and composer Denise Mei Yan Hofmann.

“This will be our third Family Day where we provide kids and adults the unique opportunity to collaborate together via workshops with The Center’s accomplished artist alumni,” says Andrea Cote, Education Program Coordinator at The Watermill Center. “Last Winter's Family Day, over 40 participants developed a choral piece with the international refugee education initiative, The Hutto Project, and learned about devising original movement work with Makram Hamdan. It’s incredibly rewarding to see both children and parents so completely engaged.”

All children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably and be ready to move. Each workshop is an hour and half and includes a Movement Workshop with Matty Davis and Music Workshop with Denise Mei Yan Hoffman. Registration is required as space is limited. Tickets are $10/child and $15/adult and include both workshops.
