Woman Charged With Felony DWI In Hamptons Had 15-Year-Old In Car: PD

The East Hampton woman also resisted arrest when stopped in Sagaponack, police say.

SAGAPONACK, NY — An East Hampton woman was arrested after she drove while intoxicated with a 15-year-old in her car in Sagaponack, police said.

According to Southampton town police, the incident took place Wednesday at 4:23 p.m. when an officer on patrol in Sagaponack saw the driver of a 2011 gray Chevrolet failing to maintain their lane on Montauk Highway near Sagg Main Street.

During a traffic stop, Nancy J. Robinson, 52, was found to be intoxicated with the teen in her car; she also resisted arrest by refusing to be handcuffed, police said.

She was arrested, taken to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing, and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony under Leandra's Law; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor; and several traffic infractions, police said.

She was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
