Woman Charged With Felony DWI, Resisting Arrest In Southampton: Police

The woman, who was driving a Mercedes and ran a red light, was arrested Thursday, police say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY —A Southampton woman was arrested after she drove while intoxicated and resisted arrest, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place Thursday at 6:22 p.m. A patrol officer stopped Sasckya P. Slothower, 38, after seeing her run a red light at the intersection of North Sea Road and County Road 39, police said.

The ensuing investigation revealed that she was intoxicated, police said. The officer tried to place Slothower under arrest, but she physically resisted those attempts, police said.

She was ultimately placed under arrest and charged with felony DWI and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; she was also issued a summons for the traffic infraction, police said.

Slothower was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.
