Woman Charged In Hamptons Rental Scam: Police
A tenant tried to rent home for $13,200; when they went to move in, they were told the person had no right to offer the house for rent: PD
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A New York woman is facing a felony charge after an East End rental scam, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, on March 14, Bakhrom Talipov, aka Victoria Jacobs, 42, of New York, NY, was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.
The charges are connected to a rental scam that occurred in March, 2019, when Jacobs offered a prospective tenant a residence to rent that was located on Deerfield Road in Noyac, for the asking price of $13,200, police said.

When the prospective tenant attempted to move into the residence on March 31, 2019, he was advised by the homeowner that Victoria Jacobs had no right or privilege to rent the residence, police said.
She was arraigned and released by Southampton Town Justice Court to appear on a later date, police said.
