Woman Follows Man After Crash, Stops Him Until Police Arrive: PD

RIVERSIDE, NY — After a man rear-ended her vehicle and left the scene, a woman followed him and stopped him until police arrived, authorities said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place Monday at 6:27 p.m. at the intersection of Country Road 105 and Flanders Road in Riverside, when the woman said a man left the scene without giving her his information. She then followed and stopped him and waited for police, authorities said.

Gerber Alexis LopezGarcia, 26, of Flanders, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, leaving the scene of the incident without reporting, a traffic infraction, and possession of alcoholic beverages in certain motor vehicles, a

traffic infraction, police said.

He was processed at Southampton Town Police headquarters, issued traffic tickets for the infractions, and released on an appearance ticket with a future court date for arraignment, police said.
