Woman Parked On Shoulder Of Highway Charged With DWI: Cops

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton woman was charged with driving while intoxicated — while parked on the shoulder of the highway, police said.

According to New York State Police, Paula A. Chacon, 38, was arrested at 3 a.m.; she was parked on the shoulder of the eastbound side of Sunrise Highway, east of Exit 65, police said.

Upon further investigation, Chacon was found to be intoxicated with a BAC of .17%, police said.

Chacon was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and is due back in Southampton Town Justice Court on Nov. 19, police said.
