Woman Threatens Man With A Knife: Police
The incident took place Monday afternoon, police say.
FLANDERS, NY — A Riverhead woman was arrested Monday after she threatened a man with a knife in Flanders, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 2:03 p.m. at a residence on Cypress Avenue. An investigation by officers found that Cheryl Gormez, 58, of Riverhead, had threatened a male occupant of the home with the knife, police said.
Gormez was arrested and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for processing; she was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and third-degree possession of a weapon, a felony, police said.

She was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court, police said.
