Wrong-Way Bicyclist Caught With Cocaine Early Sunday: Police
He was riding the wrong way, with no lights in the dark, when he was caught with cocaine, police say.
RIVERSIDE, NY — A wrong-way bicyclist was caught with cocaine in Riverside early Sunday, police said.
According to Southampton Town police, the incident took place at 1:03 a.m. Jermaine Stevens, 51, of Riverhead, was seen riding a bicycle the wrong way on the roadway, with no lights, on Old Quogue Road in the area of Flanders Road, police said.
Upon interview, Stevens was found to be impaired by drugs and was found to be in possession of cocaine, police said.

Stevens was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Department headquarters for arrest processing and was issued a desk appearance ticket to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for a later arraignment date, police said.
Stevens was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and several violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws, police said.
