At 2:07 p.m. Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Philipstown man who owns a commercial lot on Route 9 in the Town. He reported that he had found roughly 10 pounds of trinitrotoluene (TNT) and a quantity of blasting caps in an old trailer located on the property.
The man said that he discovered the items while clearing the property and that he believed the items belonged to the former owner of the parcel, now thought to be deceased, who had owned a blasting company.
