2,143 Out Of Power In Putnam: HV Nor'easter

Putnam County officials reported crews were out overnight and will continue plowing and salting as necessary.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — The number of customers without power in Putnam County started growing Tuesday as the sun rose and the winds picked up.

NYSEG reported as of 10:10 a.m.:

  • Kent: 1,442 customers out
  • Patterson: 269
  • Carmel: 85
  • Putnam Valley: 66

Central Hudson reported 281 customers out in Putnam. The damage is being assessed and there is not estimate for restoration — the utility company has a total of 21,793 customers out.

NYSEG estimates all service will be restored to its customers by the end of the day.

Putnam County government reported on Twitter that snowplow crews had been out all night and were continuing to work. County and state roads are not closed but travel can be hazardous.

Brewster Village Hall is closed for the day. Village officials asked residents to refrain from shoveling snow into streets so snowplows could keep them clear.
