2-Car Crash On The Taconic In Putnam

Police are seeking witnesses to the 10:20 p.m. accident.

A two-car crash on the Taconic Parkway Sunday was apparently caused by a car that lost control, state police said.

At about 10:20 p.m. Aug. 6, New York State Police from the Stormville barracks were dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle collision on the Taconic State Parkway in the area of Bullet Hole Road.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2000 Saturn SL, operated by 23-year-old Joseph C. Licurse of LaGrange, N.Y., was traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway. Licurse’s vehicle exited the roadway for an unknown reason and struck an earth embankment. The Saturn overturned and came to rest blocking both northbound lanes.
