2 CT Men To Putnam County Jail On DWI, Drug Charges: State Cops
One of them threatened to kick a trooper in the head, police said.

SOUTHEAST, NY — Two Connecticut men arrested and sent to Putnam County Jail Saturday after a 2:15 a.m. stop on Interstate 84. Police said the driver smelled of liquor and the passenger had cocaine residue around his nostrils.
New York State Police from the Brewster barracks charged Noval Baez, 35, of Danbury with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, and Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor. Scott M. Craigue, age 49, of Brookfield, CT, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration, a class A misdemeanor.
They were stopped, police said, after troopers observed Baez committing a violation of the vehicle and traffic law.

Police said the trooper observed the operator, Baez had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. The passenger, Craigue had what appeared to be cocaine residue on his nose, lap, and vehicle seat. Further investigation found approximately 9.3 grams of cocaine, police allege.
Craigue was additionally charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration after refusing to exit the State Police patrol vehicle and threatening to kick troopers in the head.

Baez and Craigue were arraigned before the town of Southeast Court and sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. Both subjects are scheduled to reappear before the court on Jan. 9, 2018.
