The Sheriff's Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit started in September investigating reports that two 18-year-olds, one male and one female, were involved in the sale of prescription medications locally, Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. said. A deputy was able to make contact with them and arrange for the purchase of Xanax pills on several occasions.

Members of the Sheriff’s road patrol took the man into custody near his Southeast residence Dec. 21 after a complaint of suspicious activity. While he was being booked into the Putnam County Correctional facility it was discovered that he was also in possession of 24 doses of LSD.
