Update: Rail Service Back to Normal Along Metro-North's Harlem Line

The MTA had announced delays of up to 20 minutes on the Harlem Line Thursday morning due to unscheduled track work.

Update at 10:42 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015: Rail service northbound along the Metro-North Harlem Line returned to normal at about 10:30 a.m. The MTA released the following statement:

“Harlem Line Service is now operating on or close to schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced as a result of this incident.”

Original story: Unscheduled track work along Metro-North’s Harlem Line near Mount Vernon has caused rail congestion and delays of up to 20 minutes northbound along the spur, the MTA announced Thursday morning.

The authority did not say when it expected the track work to end, or when the delays might subside. It’s most recent update that the delays were continuing was at 10 a.m.

Riders are urged to listen for announcements at their stations.
