Aftershocks Hit Hudson Valley Wednesday

A rural spot in Putnam County was the epicenter of mild tremors less than three hours apart.

Editor's Note: There were actually three tremors in Putnam County Wednesday, a small earthquake just after 6 a.m. and then two aftershocks, one a few minutes later and one a couple of hours later. The two aftershocks were at 6:15:44 and at 8:39:47. Both were magnitude 1.3 on the Richter Scale. A spokesman for Lamont-Doherty said those two were probably too small to feel.
