4 Sent To Hospital After Lightning Strike In Hudson Valley
Fire officials said the lightning must have struck the water.

MAHOPAC, NY — Four people were sent to the hospital July 4th afternoon due to a lightning strike near their boat on Lake Mahopac. The lightning strike happened as a storm moved suddenly over the lake around 3:30 p.m.
The two men and two women did not come to shore on the 20-foot boat as the storm intensified, the Journal News said.
A fire official said the boat was not hit directly by the lightning, but the lightning struck the water.
