5 Charged With DWI In Southeast During Weekend Crackdown

New York State police in Troop K said they removed 26 impaired drivers from public roadways over the St. Patrick's Day weekend.

SOUTHEAST, NY — New York State police in Troop K said they removed 26 impaired drivers from public roadways over the St. Patrick's Day weekend. Five arrests were in Southeast.

On March 17, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Denis Demiri, 30, of Bethel, CT, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.

On March 17, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Jennifer Antanios, 33, of Bay Shore, NY, for DWI. She was traveling on Interstate 684 in the town of Southeast, when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that she was impaired by alcohol, police alleged.

On March 17, State Police from SP Wappinger arrested Thomas J. Zemko, 39, of Dover, NY, for DWAI Drugs, and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, both misdemeanors. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by drugs. Further investigation discovered 1.4 grams of Clonazepam, 1.2 grams of Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine, and 0.6 grams of Alprazolam, police alleged.

On March 17, State Police from SP Brewster arrested Armindo L. Goncalves, 59, of Yonkers, NY, for DWI. He was traveling on State Route 22 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol, police said.
