Acting Opportunities for Children and Teens In Brewster

SOUTHEAST-BREWSTER, NY - From Spotlight Arts: Spotlight Arts is proud to announce fall musical theatre workshops and acting classes for children and teens right in Brewster. Students can choose from a variety of our programs which all provide performance opportunities in a fun and positive learning environment.

The fall musical theatre workshop, Little Mermaid Jr., meets on Thursday evenings beginning September 7th and is designed for students ages 6 through 16. After 12 sessions, the end result is a full workshop production of the magical Disney tale on Saturday, December 2nd. Students experience a full production with costumes, lighting, sound & scenery.

Weekly improv and auditioning classes are also available to students on Saturdays for 10 sessions throughout the fall. Students have the choice of studying junior or senior improvisational theatre on Saturday mornings, which are separated by age, or can take part in our brand new class, the Art of Auditioning. This auditioning class aims to prepare students for any upcoming audition, amateur or professional, through a series of song and monologue preparation, resume preparation, and mock auditions.

Students who plan to audition for ourmainstage programs are highly encouraged to take the auditioning class.

For students who are looking for a one on one experience, 30 minute private acting coaching sessions are also now available to studentsages 6 18. Students can use private acting instruction to prepare for upcoming auditions, continue to enhance their acting skills, and directtheir focus into detailed work in one or more specific areas: commercials, plays, musical theatre, TV/film. Students have the option to bookby session individually or schedule a consistent weekly time slot for all 12 available weeks throughout the fall season. Space is limited andfall spots are expected to fill up quickly.
