PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — New York State police are looking for a tractor-trailer that injured a trooper and smashed a police car on I-84 at 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Police said an officer from the East Fishkill Barracks was monitoring traffic on the westbound shoulder of Interstate 84 in the Town of Kent when a truck struck the patrol car and kept going.

The trooper was transported to Putnam Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
