Afternoon Count Shows About 235 Votes in Brewster, Southeast

Patch stopped by the three local primary polls between 2:45 and 3:30 p.m.

Around three dozen election workers were scattered across three locations in Brewster and Southeast Thursday in light of the primaries.

At each spot—the civic center at , the lobby at and the large meeting room at —they directed voters on how to cast ballots, and they even turned away a few. Those folks, less than a dozen in total, were Democrats, a party that did not appear on the Putnam ticket.

By mid-afternoon, about 235 people had shown up to the three locations. Elections workers said that seemed about right for a primary day, and they were not expecting any major rushes between then and the 9 p.m. closing time.
