SOUTHEAST, NY — A Danbury man paid a dear toll for a trip across the state line.
The New York State Police say that on Sunday, around 2:49 a.m., troopers from Somers stopped a vehicle traveling east on I-84, in the town of Southeast.
While speaking with the driver, 21-year-old Jayden A. Samaniego, of Danbury, Connecticut, troopers saw a Glock 9mm handgun in plain view. State police say that the firearm was loaded with a magazine containing several rounds of ammunition.
Samaniego was arrested and charged with felony second-degree criminal possession of a firearm (loaded firearm).
He was arraigned in the Town of Carmel Court and released on his own recognizance. Samaniego is scheduled to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on May 14.
