Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic tool used to produce pictures of specific body parts without the use of radiation. Open MRI suites are designed for comfort and to reduce claustrophobia and anxiety that some patients experience with traditional closed MRI units.

Somers Orthopaedic’s new open MRI suites can accommodate patients up to 500 pounds comfortably during the scanning procedure.  The open air design allows for comfort and scanning accuracy, while producing the highest quality images.  Somers Orthopaedic Surgery technologists are skillful and highly trained to handle the most apprehensive and anxious patients.
