MAHOPAC, NY â The greens of Putnam County Golf Course were damaged by two people who illegally drove ATVs on the course four times between Dec. 30 and Jan. 17. However, there is video footage of the culprits riding red ATVs on the property, and law enforcement officials are seeking the public's help in identifying them.
The Putnam County Sheriffâs Office, in cooperation with the Carmel Police Department, is asking for the publicâs assistance to identify the two drivers. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
âThe Putnam County Golf Course has been a premier destination in the Hudson Valley with its lush greens at public prices,â said Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell. âWe cannot allow individuals to misuse the golf course at the expense of the taxpayers.â
