Ax-Wielder Wanted All Of Shared Holiday Gift: Police
A Peekskill man faces charges after an incident in Putnam Valley.

PUTNAM VALLEY, NY — A Peekskill man who police said didn't want to share a holiday gift with a colleague faces several charges in Putnam Valley.
State police called to Oscawana Lake Road at 8:45 a.m. Dec. 13 said they found out that a customer had left $30 for the folks who perform refuse collection services.
Sean S. Date, 54, didn't want to share it, police said, and tried to forcibly take the entire amount using an ax.

He was charged with Robbery in the 1st degree, a class B felony; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree; and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, both class A misdemeanors.
Date was arraigned before the town of Putnam Valley Court, and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear before the Court on Dec. 19.
