Bail-Jumping Connecticut Fugitive Arrested, Extradited To NY: Sheriff

He has an outstanding bench warrant for several charges and an outstanding arrest warrant for a slew of charges, according to authorities.

PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — A fugitive in Connecticut is back in New York to face charges.

Putnam County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville says Narcotics Enforcement Unit investigators went to the Derby Connecticut Superior Court in Derby, Connecticut, to arrest and extradite a man to New York.

Luis A. Flores, of New Britain, Connecticut, had an outstanding bench warrant, signed by Town of Southeast Court Judge Vercollone, for failing to appear to answer charges of second degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, third degree criminal possession of controlled substance, first degree reckless endangerment, third degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

The 33-year-old also had an outstanding arrest warrant signed by Putnam County Superior Court Judge Mole after being indicted by a grand jury, which included charges of felony second degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, three felony counts of third degree criminal possesssion, felony first degree reckless endangerment, misdemeanor seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor resisting arrest, misdemeanor third degree fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and misdemeanor reckless driving.

Flores was also charged a week prior with felony second degree bail-jumping.

Flores was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Putnam County Superior Court. He was ordered to remain remanded at Putnam County Correctional Facility, pending a future court date.
