Bambi Rescued After Crash Kills Mother
If you encounter an orphaned or injured young wild animal, here is what to do.
PUTNAM COUNTY, NY â A fawn whose mother was hit and killed by a car in Carmel June 6 was rescued by state environmental conservation officers after a call alerting them to the problem.
ECO Craig Tompkins, who received the call, and ECO Kevin Wamsley captured the fawn and delivered it to a local wildlife rehabilitator.
The young buck will be raised and released when it is old enough to survive and fend for itself in the wild, DEC officials said.
