Bethel Man Faces Public Lewdness Charge In Putnam County

SOUTHEAST, NY — New York State police charged a Connecticut man with public lewdness Dec. 10.

Police said they received a report at 7:15 p.m. about a man masturbating in a public parking lot on Route 22 in Southeast. State troopers from the Brewster barracks located a suspect as described.

Maxwell D. Cleary, 23, of Bethel, CT, was charged with Public Lewdness, a class B misdemeanor, and issued an appearance ticket returnable to Southeast town court on Dec. 29, police said.
